Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from Great product I bought this for my wife and she loves it. It helps hold the sticks as I climb, have them hanging over my shoulder, and grab the stick with one hand. It’s a lot of work, but I’m really happy with how it turned out. This is what it looks like when it’s all done. I got my feet in the air by setting my stand and hanging the last stick. On the 4th stick, I climbed with my stand in my back and looped my bow rope to my safety harness. Climb up and hang the 2nd and 3rd sticks. With my knee cap on, hang the first stick on the ground. How do you carry climbing sticks while climbing? Three sticks, about 16 feet, give or take. How high can you get with 4 Lone Wolf sticks? Can you saddle hunt without a platform?.What happened to Lone Wolf hunting products?.How do you carry climbing sticks while climbing?.How high can you get with 4 Lone Wolf sticks?.Gonna match my sticks to the profile of the pack, and take the bandsaw to them this week. Back to the badlands pursuit pack for me and traded the predators spot in my pack for a set of squirrel steps as my go to. I had ordered a mystery ranch popup 28 to carry my sticks and platform in. Hoping that being able to side stack them and having a substantially shorter profile will really make me want to stick with them. Ended up selling the shikars due to the fiddle factor involved with them. Bought a set of shikars back in May and put these lone wolfs up in the attic and contemplated selling them but never did. I found myself not even utilizing the double step more often than not, also I quit hanging sticks in new balances and that helped for sure. Parts are on order for the standoffs to fully rotate, double steps are coming back off, and cable aiders will go on as soon as I get them from EWO. Season opens on Saturday for me, but work will keep me out of the woods until the middle of next week if I'm lucky enough to get off then. Last year I used the 5 step aider with WE steps and it wasn’t bad but this year I’m going to play around more with the LW sticks or a combination of the two.Ħ months later I still find myself going back to this thread and saying I need to cut them down. I am also thinking about the double step for the tops of the sticks. I also cut my LW sticks and am happy with it. If done properly I think it’s plenty safe. The concept to not have them kick out is to get the step in the middle of the foot and plant your toe straight and into the trunk. I have a 5 step aider and it’s not bad but I think a 2 step ladder type aider would be better. The concerns are mostly that they can kick out but I like the aiders. Ive never used one and Im comfortable in and climbing trees so Im not sure what the concerns are. If I cut them down I plan to make a 2 step moveable aider. I do have the double step ordered for the top of each stick. Im not real worried about the weight but packing the sorter sticks sounds nice.
